Spadea joins Halfacre team as a senior advisor

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Two days in front of a scheduled campaign kickoff by a Republican rival, 12th District Republican congressional candidate Fair Haven Mayor Mike Halfacre announced that Bill Spadea, Republican grassroots leader and former District 12 Congressional Republican nominee, has joined the Halfacre for Congress campaign as a senior advisor.

Spadea will assist with overall strategy, grassroots outreach and fundraising. “I am thrilled that Bill Spadea has decided to join my team,” said Halfacre. “Bill was the first person I reached out to when I decided to run because he ran the kind of hardworking, grassroots campaign I’ve been running. His positive influence extends far past his hometown of Princeton or Mercer County; he is widely respected throughout the district and the state as an articulate voice for conservative principles and political strategy. His advice will be invaluable to me in my effort to defeat Rush Holt.” Spadea, president of Building the New Majority, a grassroots political organization co-founded by Republican businessman (and major motion picture subject) John Crowley, spoke favorably about Halfacre’s campaign. “I was impressed with Mike when we met in the spring and as I’ve followed his campaign for the last 8 months I think he’s said and done all the right things,” said the 2004 Republican nominee…

Election Results 2009

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
We did it!  Congratulations to all of you who worked tirelessly through the past few months to help bring about a Republican statewide win.  Not only did Chris Christie capture the Governor’s office, but dozens of our endorsed local candidates exceeded expectations throughout the state. Building the New Majority endorsed and supported sixty-one candidates for Assembly, Freeholder, Mayor, Committee and Council. On Tuesday, Thirty-three of those candidates were elected by the voters!  Perhaps the best news is that twenty of the winners were NOT incumbents.
Here’s the link to the detailed results:

96 hours to go hour

Sunday, November 1st, 2009
96 hours to go hour. We’ve got four more days to get the word out and motivate volunteers and voters to help send Jon Corzine back to the private sector.  With your support, Building the New Majority has targeted dozens of candidates running for local offices across the state and we’re happy to report that many of these races have a great shot at winning on Election Day.
Of course the registered Democrats in New Jersey outnumber the Republicans by a nearly two-to-one margin so we’ve got some work to do.  We need to spend this weekend talking to our Democratic and independent friends and get them to pull the lever for good government across the board on Tuesday.  Tuesday is the day to send a message to all those corrupt parasites that have lived and prospered on the backs of the hard-working families in New Jersey for decades.  By electing honest, hard-working, champions of responsible and limited government to town councils, freeholder boards, assembly seats and the Governor’s office, we’ll show them that we came prepared to fight…and win.
Our candidate list can be found at www.buildingthenewmajority.org. Find one of these courageous community leaders in your area and show up to knock on doors, make a few last minute calls, or send emails to your address book.  Let people know that the opportunity for the people to take back our government is here and their vote counts.  Every vote for your local candidates for Mayor, Council, Freeholder, or Assembly Member is one step closer to victory for common sense, reasonable and limited government.

Here are a few races to watch and jump in to help over the next 96 hours:

Doug Hoffman Leads in NY-23 Special Election

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

A new poll released earlier today by Club for Growth shows that Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman has surged into the lead in the NY-23 Special Congressional Election to be held Nov. 3!

Hoffman now leads with 31%, Democrat Bill Owens is at 27%, and liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava has collapsed to just 20%.

Over the weekend, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) began a new attack ad aimed solely at Hoffman – the first such ad from the DCCC. Previously, the DCCC had only attacked the Republican.

This means the DCCC’s internal polling also shows Hoffman either in the lead or having the best chance to beat the Democrat.

Their fear is clear — the Democrat and the Republican are both very liberal and will split the moderate to liberal vote. As The Wall Street Journal editorial noted last week, “James Buckley won a Senate seat as the Conservative candidate in New York in 1970 against a pair of major-party liberals.”

The new Club for Growth poll and the new DCCC ad proves the chances of a stunning Hoffman victory are now better than ever.

There are just 8 days left until Election Day.

In the coming hours, the Hoffman campaign will be making its final decisions on how much final advertising they can afford.

Click here to make your most generous contribution to Doug Hoffman for Congress today.

Conservative Surges in NY Special Election

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

William Kristol of The Weekly Standard wrote a new piece on the incredibly important NY-23 Special Congressional Election. Here is an excerpt:

The candidacy of the official Republican nominee, liberal Dede Scozzafava, selected by local party officials and supported by the national Republican establishment, is collapsing. The Republican who has a real chance to defeat Democrat Bill Owens is Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate-a Republican with a profile far more like the popular [former congressman and now Army Secretary John] McHugh, and one far more in sync with the district. What’s more, if elected, Hoffman would caucus in Congress with Republicans-whereas Scozzafava could well pull an Arlen Specter and defect to the Democrats.

And yesterday, former Congressman Dick Armey endorsed Doug Hoffman too.

Opposing view: GOP offers clear alternative

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

It takes two to tango, and President Barack Obama and the Democratic congressional leadership repeatedly have said “no” to working with Republicans who have offered to compromise.

Obama and the Democrats said “no” on all the Republican ideas for the stimulus bill – including tax rate cuts that would stimulate the economy. They have insisted that the top income tax rates soar starting after next year, further stifling economic growth.

Bill Speaks at Conservatives with Attitude

Part 1

Part 2

Don’t be afraid to say that you are Republicans!

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Dear Chairman Webber:

First, please allow us to offer our sincere congratulations on your
election, by the Republican State Committee, as its new Chairman. We
hope that the Committee is open to all points of view in the
Republican family, and that it conducts itself as a model of open
administration and transparency.

The meeting that was held on Wednesday, June 17th, was our first as
elected members of the State Committee, but we came away from it with
some concerns. At this meeting, there were a number of motions made
from the floor and acted upon by the Committee. These motions involved
nominations for officers and adopting the minutes from the last
meeting (September 11, 2008).

Conservative-led opposition needed

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Republican politicians have failed conservatives, the GOP itself and America. We’re heading down the tracks to socialism or worse, with the GOP as caboose.
