96 hours to go hour. We’ve got four more days to get the word out and motivate volunteers and voters to help send Jon Corzine back to the private sector. With your support, Building the New Majority has targeted dozens of candidates running for local offices across the state and we’re happy to report that many of these races have a great shot at winning on Election Day.
Of course the registered Democrats in New Jersey outnumber the Republicans by a nearly two-to-one margin so we’ve got some work to do. We need to spend this weekend talking to our Democratic and independent friends and get them to pull the lever for good government across the board on Tuesday. Tuesday is the day to send a message to all those corrupt parasites that have lived and prospered on the backs of the hard-working families in New Jersey for decades. By electing honest, hard-working, champions of responsible and limited government to town councils, freeholder boards, assembly seats and the Governor’s office, we’ll show them that we came prepared to fight…and win.
Our candidate list can be found at www.buildingthenewmajority.org. Find one of these courageous community leaders in your area and show up to knock on doors, make a few last minute calls, or send emails to your address book. Let people know that the opportunity for the people to take back our government is here and their vote counts. Every vote for your local candidates for Mayor, Council, Freeholder, or Assembly Member is one step closer to victory for common sense, reasonable and limited government.
Here are a few races to watch and jump in to help over the next 96 hours:

John Curley http://www.johnpcurley.com/welcome.html is running for Freeholder in Monmouth County, we’ve sent financial help and spread the word among our grassroots teams – he lost last time out by only a few hundred votes. His victory this year establishes Republican control back to the board which will be critical to defend families, and the small businesses that employ them, against an ever increasing tax and regulatory burden.
Mike Donohue and John McCann http://www.donohuemccann09.com/ are running for the Assembly in the 1st district. This is a battle were we have one of the best shots at a GOP pick up to further narrow the gap in the State Assembly. This race has received national attention from several groups including our training partner GOPAC which has spent considerable resources to help these two common sense conservatives win.
Tony Bucco http://www.buccoforassembly.com/ with his running mate, Michael Patrick Carroll http://www.michaelcarroll.com/ are poised to win the Assembly seats in Morris County on Tuesday. We were supportive of Tony as he battled through a difficult primary. He’s ready to take his common sense conservative approach to Trenton.
Terriann Moore-Abrams http://vip.politickernj.com/tags/terriann-moore-abrams-0 is running for Register in Essex County. Her campaign is in high gear as she’s been reaching across party lines to pull in support from the Democrats. Terriann is a clear rising star in our Party.
Mike Doherty http://www.mikedohertynj.com/ is on his way to winning the Senate seat in the 23rd Legislative district. We were happy to help Mike during his tough primary race back in June. Mike along with his Assembly running mates John DiMaio and Erik Peterson will be an important part of taking back control of our government.
Thom Carter and his running mate, Mark Caliguire http://www.thomcarter.com/ are in a great position to return GOP control to Montgomery Township in Somerset County.
Marty Marks & Bo Vastine http://www.marksvastine2009.com/ are running a strong race in the 22nd legislative district. They are in a great position for an upset despite the redistricting that has made the district ‘safe Democratic’ for many years. A last minute $25 contribution or a couple phone calls and emails on their behalf will make a difference.
Werner Graf http://gografnj.com/ has run and outstanding race with his running mate Kim Taylor http://taylorandgraf.net/. Although the 15th district is one of the toughest for a GOP challenger, every neighborhood they canvas and every call they make draws the Democrats fire into a district they used to be able to take for granted.
In Middle Township in Cape May County, Dan Lockwood http://www.lockwoodformiddle.com/ is running strong for Middle Township Committee and is in position for a victory.
Tim Mathews www.mathewsforcommittee.com is running a terrific grassroots campaign for Township Committee in East Amwell. With a little push we think he’s got a terrific shot to win.
Dan Marley www.marleyformayor.com in a tough battle for Mayor of Lambertville. I can tell you from 2004 that this is a tough area, but this year is different! If you live in the area, visit his website and sign up to help.
Stefanie Gara & Greg Lobell www.garalobell.com are running for council in Raritan. They’re running a strong grassroots race and with some last minute help should be able to pull out a victory.
In the key county of Bergen, where we need to win in order to secure a statewide victory, Paul Cordts & Johnny Porco http://www.cordtsporco.org/redevelopment.html are running for Council in River Edge. These guys are running hard and are ready to win.
Also in Bergen, Alan Brundage & Michael Rohdieck http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=108258747916 are running strong for Council in Paramus. This is another key race with statewide implications.
The Deptford Township Republican Club has four terrific candidates running for seats in their municipal government. Jim Capone, Barbara Gallagher, Jay Madara & Jon Mangel http://www.dtrp.org/ are running a strong grassroots campaign and need your help as well.
We’re also supporting of two outstanding Assembly candidates running in New Jersey’s 27th Legislative District, Barry Funt and Mark Meyerowitz. They’ve helped organize Assembly challengers across the state as they push for a consistent message of lowering taxes and reigning in government http://citizensforassembly.com/home/
Don’t count out the terrific campaign being waged by Cindy Randazzo, Russ Wojtenko and Shirley Guerieri for Freeholder in Mercer County http://www.abettermercer.com/ . They’ve run a tough race and have reached out personally to thousands of voters. Joe Sinagra and Bob Jones http://www.gopusanj.com/wordpress/?p=9331 are also waging a great neighborhood ‘door-knocking’ effort in the 18th legislative district and are on their way to exceeding expectations.
Rounding out some of the other important local races… We’ve got the terrific effort being put forth by Toni Marie Angelini as she moves closer to becoming a member of the Council in Matawan. A bit further south, in Galloway Township, Atlantic County we’re proud to be supporting four terrific candidates for Council with a great shot at winning, Tom Bassford, Dennis Kleiner, Whitney Ulman and Don Purdy. Keep another close eye on the outstanding effort being put forth by Jay Taylor and Dan Mulligan as they battle for seats on the Cranbury Township Committee.
There are many more candidates that we’ve supported in some way over the past few months, spreading the word, mobilizing volunteers, conducting training and delivering financial contributions. All of our endorsed candidates are running strong and all have a chance of victory if we do our job and help them over the finish line.
Thanks for everything that you’ve already done to help us rebuild the Republican Party in New Jersey from the ground up. Let’s win on Tuesday and set our sights on the next round of elections in 2010, 2011 and the next statewide contest in 2012.
See you at the voting booth on Tuesday…
